BEYOND TESTING, WHAT THE CANNABIS INDUSTRY AND CONSUMERS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HHC SAFETY
Matthew Guenther, the founder of the American Cannabinoid Association, told us late last year that he was optimistic about the future of HHC For Sale Bulk. However, due to potential health and safety dangers, he was cautious to begin distributing this legal psychotropic chemical.
Chemists were just learning how to make HHC from Delta-8 THC at the time. Furthermore, third-party laboratories lacked adequate testing requirements to protect customers. As a result, immediately following the interview, our Bona Voluntate team began creating methodologies to measure HHC potency and product safety.
HHC is now available online and in stores, but not every product goes through thorough testing first. So, what are the dangers to customers, and how can the hemp business improve HHC quality?
We spoke with Tyler Workman, Founder of Get Hempd and Florida Nutraceuticals, to find out.
SO, HOW DID YOU GET INTO HEMP MANUFACTURING, AND WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT TODAY'S HHC MARKET?
TW: I began selling CBD several years ago, but quickly realised that I wanted to manufacture my own products. So my business partner and I began by purchasing hemp biomass and extracting HHC For Sale Bulk. This quickly evolved to white labelling, or the production of products for other brands.
TW: We were so successful that we quickly outgrew three laboratories. So we decided to construct a new facility while also forming a joint venture with another lab. We have the largest combined footprint in the country. And by growing our market share in minor cannabinoids like HHC and Delta-8, we will shift the game.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT, Bona Voluntate?
TW: We're going to assist in the elimination of numerous dangerous items on the market today. We also aim to put an end to the sad trend of bogus COAs (Certificates of Analysis). We aim to offer complete transparency and traceability so that people can be confident they're getting a safe, pure HHC product. This is why third-party laboratories such as Bona Voluntate Laboratory are at the forefront of HHC and Delta 8 testing.
TW: Unfortunately, some HHC providers are fraudulently delivering hazardous and impure formulae to hemp brands, who are marketing damaging goods to customers unintentionally. Simply said, many products do not pass safety tests because of microorganisms, pesticides, and heavy metals in particular. Furthermore, most HHC products would fail potency tests since they contain just trace levels of the substance.
WHY DO YOU THINK FAKE HHC PRODUCTS ARE SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM, Bona Voluntate?
TW: Many players in this market have consistently reduced the bar in order to obtain rock-bottom prices for their clients. However, low-budget production is not the greatest solution and does not ensure quality. Instead, it causes producers to cut corners and fail to thoroughly filter items.
Bona Voluntate: WHAT SHOULD HHC MANUFACTURERS FILTER OUT?
TW: Well, chemists must employ certain metal catalysts, such as palladium on carbon, platinum on carbon, or Raney nickel, to make HHC For Sale Bulk. And these metals must be appropriately removed because they will cause health problems if not. Furthermore, these metals must be evaluated by a recognised third-party lab, such as Bona Voluntate Laboratory.
DO MANUFACTURERS HAVE TO USE METALS TO MAKE HHC? Bona Voluntate:
TW: Each processor has its own exclusive HHC technique. However, at a high level, you must begin with CBD isolation. The CBD isolate is then converted into a Delta-8 concentrate with a strength of 96 to 99%. The Delta-8 is then hydrogenated in HHCP Cannabinoid utilising two active catalysts (typically heavy metals). After that, you must go through additional filtration stages to remove the metals before selling the product.
Bona Voluntate: DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS WITH HHC PRODUCTS?
TW: Because HHC exists in a variety of formats, some vendors are taking advantage of this to make lower-quality goods.
TW: First, there's 9-beta-hydroxy-hexahydrocannabinol, which is the most widely available on the market. In laboratory studies, it is difficult to distinguish from Delta-8 because it is a fully synthetic form of HHC. Because Delta-8 is less expensive, some providers blend HHC with Delta-8 to lower prices and then falsely market them as "pure HHC" using fake COAs from unethical suppliers who do not provide transparency or traceability. Because Delta-8 is unlawful in some areas, these products may be illegal where the consumer lives.
ES: ARE THERE OTHER TYPES OF HHC?
TW: There are two basic analogues of HHC For Sale Bulk generated from Delta-8: HHCr HHCs.
According to laboratory and empirical studies, HHCr is more psychotropic. As a result, it is more expensive than HHCs, which are less active.
TW: We've gone around the market trying several brands. Most non-synthetic HHC products are HHCP Cannabinoid or S-dominant, including roughly 70% S and 20% R for approximately 90% total HHC. Because S is significantly milder, customers will not experience the desired psychoactive impact.
TW: The major issue is that most "HHC" products include significant levels of Delta-8 THC (which are not listed on the label) and up to 3-8% Delta-9 THC, making them federally illegal. Again, transparency and traceability through adequate laboratory testing are critical.
Bona Voluntate: DO YOU HAVE ANY REPUTABLE HHC BRANDS TO REFER TO?
TW: We've tried around six different brands. I've seen two that were 100% HHC. Cake is one of them, and I'm glad to see that they're raising the bar and delivering a higher-quality product than everyone else. Terp Boys, Moon Men, and Puff Puff are among more.
SO, HOW CAN HEMP BRANDS BE SURE THEY'RE BUYING FROM REPUTABLE HHC SUPPLIERS? Bona Voluntate:
TW: Brands should never blindly trust the documentation provided by HHC manufacturers. Instead, they should send the goods to accredited third-party laboratories, such as Bona Voluntate, for heavy metal testing up to parts per billion. These labs should also have the necessary standards to distinguish between Delta-8 and HHCP Cannabinoid, and preferably, HHCs, HHCr, and synthetic HHC. Brands should also avoid purchasing from the cheapest provider because pure HHC is expensive to make, thus low-cost suppliers are likely to cut a few shortcuts along the way.
AND HOW CAN CONSUMERS ENSURE THEY'RE BUYING REPUTABLE HHC PRODUCTS? Bona Voluntate:
TW: If I were a customer, I would begin by selecting a brand that offers complete transparency and traceability from seed to sale, as well as accurate laboratory test findings that include heavy metals. I'd like to see the entire chain of custody. I'd also like to see test findings from third-party laboratory COAs, rather than just in-house analytics data that can be skewed. I'd like to see a third-party COA from an accredited lab, such as Bona Voluntate.
TW: This information should be freely accessible to consumers via QR codes on packaging.
TW: As a consumer, I would not simply look for the lowest goods on the market. Anything less than $25 may not constitute HHCP Cannabinoid. A one-gram disposable vape cartridge, in my opinion, should cost between $35 and $60.
THANK YOU FOR THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS?
TW: For a long time, I've been opposing the industry's race to the bottom. I don't want to sell low-quality goods just to earn a cash. I'm attempting to give a better product that has been thoroughly evaluated, and I want customers to feel secure and confident. I'm confident that the money will come if my company does the right thing and focuses on customer education.
